About The Lonely Wolf Forge-Where Imagination Meets Steel
The Lonely Wolf Forge is named after my best companion and one true friend, a Grey Wolf named Nikki who was killed in front of me...He will forever live on in my heart and in my blades that carry his namesake. We are located in the hills of Muskingum County Ohio.
All Lonely Wolf Blades are 100% Hand made by Myself from start to finish--no automated CNC machines like you see at cheap mass produced "Knife" factories! Blades are made from quality 1095, and 5160 Spring steels in 1/8, 3/16, and 1/4 inch thicknesses. If you desire a different thickness we can probably work something out. I occasionally make blades designed by myself and offer them for sale as in stock items, but where you can really take advantage of the Lonely Wolf Forge is through full custom orders! if you can imagine and describe it--I can draw it, modify it, and bring it to life in Steel. I offer both fully functional sharp blades, and blunted show/costume pieces.
The Forge is still in what I'd refer to as a "puppy" stage, as my capabilities are slightly limited as to what designs i can currently tackle. My heat treat forge allows for blades up to 12 inches long; anything longer will have to be outsourced for heat-treat, resulting in extra fees. I am more than willing to make larger blades for you--just keep in mind it may cost a bit extra.
I am also limited as to how wide or curved a blade can be; my current steel supplier offers 3 inch wide steel at its widest, so if you plan on drawing up a blade, please be sure it fits into a 3 inch wide rectangle.
Sheaths are not included in the price of blades. They can be made for an extra fee; this will also increase turnaround time as I do not keep leather in stock. I can also do simple wood core scabbards, lacquered in the color of your choice.
All of my blades are through-hardened, meaning they are the same hardness from spine to edge. I am currently unable to offer differential hardening as seen on some Japanese blades, though I am working towards it in the future. Feel free to contact me at any time about ideas for projects, all quotes are free of charge and there is no obligation to buy.

About The Smith
I'm a kid who refused to grow up. Ever since i was a small child, I dreamed of swords and sorcery; I grew up watching classics such as Conan the Barbarian, Highlander, Rob Roy, Braveheart, etc., and in my free time i was always out in the backyard making spears out of scrap metal and fighting off the neighbor kids with wooden swords.
My fascination with swords and fantasy grew when I was introduced to anime in my younger years, and I hung out with a lot of like minded kids at school...we were the real Geek Squad! I spent my free time drawing swords and knives and my fascination grew from there. When I turned 18 I bought my first real sword. I'd had several cheapo wall hangers as a child, but never anything true. After I got my first sword i started researching and ran into other people like myself through various blade forums. I was intrigued by seeing the work of others in customizing their swords and got into it myself. I taught myself how to do Japanese Tsukamaki (the art of handle wrapping) and from there I learned to grind out blades, heat treat, etc. I was helped out along the way by some really top notch smiths who always offered their experience and expertise free of charge. In 2011 I made my first blade--an ugly roman Gladius hand-ground from an old iron bar. It wasn't really functional--it wasn't even heat treated--but after that I was hooked! Since then I've come a long way, and now offer my skill to you.

CUSTOM PURCHASES
I am very specific about how I handle custom orders and do not deviate from my procedures.

Down payments are non-refundable once I've started on the blade.
I will update you multiple times throughout the process of making the blade--you will never be left in the dark about the status of your order! Once the piece is finished I will take multiple photos showing the product from all angles for your approval. If you do not approve of the finished piece due to errors on my part, corrections will be made within reason. (This does not mean you decided halfway through you want something changed and want me to
go back and redo it.) Once you have approved the photos You will be responsible for the remaining 50% of the price; once full payment is received I will ship the blade to you to enjoy for a lifetime to come!
